Oh Fudge!

A list of random things that are random

1. As has been dominating my tweets lately, I have rainbow lunch bags. \o/

2. Today I discovered Kelloggs' Special K snacks. They are a bit of a mixed belssing as, yeah, they are like ninety calories each, but on the other hand they are very sugary, and they achieve the low calorie count by being TINY. The cereal bars are half the size of all other cereal bars. But on the other hand, they are delicious. \o/

3. Bacon is evil. Delicious, delicious evil.

4. I have a papercut on my thumb.

5. Today is the second day running on which I have been at the library from nine thirty till five o'clock. I went to the library cafe for... well, it was meant to be an hour, but it ended up being an hour and a half, both days. Today, the only time I actually left the library was to buy the aforementioned cereal bar in the student shop. I was still famished when I got home.

6. Herodotus is awesome. But heavy to carry home. He claims that there is a priestess somewhere who routinely grows a beard.

7. Cut for being TMI )

Going Mad

A List of Weird Things that have Happened

1. Last night I was in my room when one of my flatmates exclaimed 'that sounds like some kind of Czechoslovakian porn star!'. I did not hear the context.

2. Yesterday at the NaNo write-in, I was writing whilst half listening to the conversation. It was something to do with open relationships. Someone said 'so it means you can shag anyone you want!' and I said 'YAY!'. Everyone cracked up and started 'explaining what I had just yay'd'. I think they still don't believe me that I knew damn well what I was approving of. I REGRET NOTHING.

3. My NaNo spontaneously generated a new character. She is an ex-prostitute. This I regret.

4. The other night I came out of my room to brush my teeth and my flatmate came out of his room with that was either a very large bong or a giant candlestick. I can't help bu think the former is more likely. This explains a lot.

5. Me and [info]macey_muse and [info]gnimaerd and a girl I know from the NaNo write-ins are going to have a lesbian foursome. ;)

6. Talking about this in front of the one guy at the write-in was FUNNY.

7. I am now addicted to MLIA.

8. This list is seven items long.

Oh Fudge!

So yeah

So I met a boy the other night (though more accurately I met him like three weeks ago, but didn't get talking to him properly till the other night).
Here is a list of things about him:

1. I met him at Sciffy. Sciffy = sci-fi and fantasy society.

2. We have a very similiar taste in books. The reason why we spoke briefly three weeks ago is cause we both wanted to get the same book out of the sciffy library (he got there first).

3. He looks a bit like a younger, less rodenty Turlough.

4. He is, therefore, ginger, and identifies as such.

5. He is studying ancient history (unless I am getting confused, which I hope I am not).

6. He said the other night that he wanted to meet up but I wasn't quite sure if he meant dating or in a friendly way.

7. I just got a text confirming the former rather than the latter.

8. Tomorrow night.

O_O

I am not sure whether I am more excited or nervous (yeah, I'm new to this >_<).

If nothing else, it makes up for the whole 'got to watch two girls I quite like kissing other girls' thing last night. >_< (I do not wish to elaborate on the subject. One was Russian.)

I am already worrying that it will be awkward, as is common with me. >_>

TTFN, just got another text.

Merlin in the hat

Things I have learned...

...Since leaving home.

1. Never to eat pineapple followed by crisps. Pain ensues.

2. That vegetarian haggis + mashed potatoes = om nom nom. But spicy.

3. That drunken conversations about Othello are AWESOME.

4. That the big Fresher's parties aren't worth the trouble of queuing to get in (didn't bother tonight at all - hijacked the International day event instead. FREE HAGGIS.)

5. How to do the one-legged chicken dance (at a Ceilidh, lolwut).

6. That Teviot has more bars than one would expect to find stuffed into a building of that size (I have counted four so far, plus at least two cafes).

6. That my first choice of hall is, in fact, nicer than what I ended up in.

7. That some halls will lock you in as well as out when you try to leave without a key.

8. That it's possible to speak a language without understanding it. I was surprised, anyway.

9. That it's possible for a room to be colder than it is outdoors.

10. That the heater in my room is there for a reason, damn it! *switches it on*

11. That coming up with lists of more than ten items when sleepy and very slightly drunk is HARD.

12. That there is no need for a number twelve.

A List of Odd Things I have Done Today

1. A little sitting down chair dance. Upon seeing this. Awesome challenge is awesome!

2. Highlighted a troll's hair. Because I have one on my windowsill, and his hair  is gradually turning white in the sun, sooo... when I take him down to dust him I tint it with a pink highlighter. >_>

3. Washed miniature gravel. I have a dolls house in my room. The gravel is nigh-impossible to keep clean. When I first put it in the water, so much dust floated to the surface that I had to scoop it out with my hands. EWW.
...I also vacuumed the inside of my dolls house. : D Clean now!

Things that Make Me Happy Currently

1. M&S food; specifically, the chocolate mini bite things (like mini rolls, only smaller and with better chocolate and chocolate creamy stuff inside), and cocktail sausages.

2. Firefly. : D

3.This userpic.

4. This image. YAY HARES!

5. TDF.

6. Editing my NaNo, which means I get to further develop all the characters.

7. More specifically, this:

The Thalman-Bydern Treatise on Magical Creation and Animation, The Thaumological Animation of Metals, vita et momentum, Jackson’s Advanced Spells of Animation, Motion and Alteration

...Which is the string of book titles I spend aaaages coming up with for one scene.

8. Making dolls.

9. Posting dolls and getting nice feedback. : D

10. My awesome new MSN buddy (Britters).

11. All my other MSN buddies, actually.

12. TDF.

13. Studying symbol and myth in RS, which involves reading creation myths. : D I could have compared them all at much greater length than I got to...

14. Getting university offers. From BRISTOL. : D

15. The fact that all the above things make me happy even though there's loads of sucky stuff as well. : DD

Reasons Why Warriors' Gate is MADE OF EPIC WIN

So, I got the E-Space trilogy on DVD. And of the three of them, well... Warrior's Gate is by far the best.
So. Here is my list.

Five Mental Images I Could Have Done Without...

I should warn you that some of these are kind of weird. But mostly came from suggestions made by people other than myself.

Cut for aforementioned weirdness. )

NaNoWriMo: Done

Final Wordcount: 65,420 Words

I am now going to close the file and leave it for a few days.
*does so*
Huzzah! I have reached my target and am done. : DD

So now I can get on with the following:

1. The multi-parter Merlin fic I wrote one chapter of and then had to stop because of NaNo.

2. Merlin is an Evil Overlord - got two more parts planned out.

3. The rest of my stuff for merlin_the_elf

4. My two seriousface plot bunnies (one angsty-fluff Arthur/Gwen plot bunny, one evil!death!fic plot bunny).

5. The vampire story I started ages ago and have yet to finish.

6. My still untitled novel thing... I have an idea for another draft that may work better than the others.

7. Considering writing this weird Doctor Who fic... that'd be fun to write but wouldn't make any sense to anyone other than me for quite a while.

8. My English coursework (got to choose a question soon).

9. Reading the Aeneid (two books behind >_<).

10. Re-reading The Return of the Native.

11. Re-reading the Odyssey.

12. Re-reading the other stuff I need to re-read for re-takes in January.

13. Christmas shopping.

14. Buying presents for Ellen and Lily. Their party is next weekend. Still have not done this. >_<

Long list... longer than I expected...

The Ten Rules of Revision

For [info]sheppard56 a.k.a Amy and Pyrresias.

1. Sitting with a textbook open but not actually reading it counts as revision.

2. Likewise, having a revision site open in another tab/window counts as revising.

3. Food eaten while revising contains no calories.

4. If you start watching something whilst on a break from revision, you must keep watching it till the end before you start revising again.

5. Two hours is a perfectly reasonable amount of time for a break. It is not procrastination.

6. Sunday is the day of rest. You can't revise on a Sunday.

7. If someone starts talking to you whilst you're revising, it would be rude not to stop to talk to them.

8. If you don't get something, don't worry. You can always go over it again later. The night before the exam. In a complete panic.

9. Background music is essential to revision, no matter what your teachers say. Background television isn't that bad an idea either.

10.  Your exams aren't that important, really... there's always retakes... and next year... and so on.

Things I have learnt.

1. Corn chips are awesome. *eats*

2. There are some seriously disturbed people out there. Also some very stupid ones.

3. Planning essays isn't actually as hard as I thought.

4. Glasses really suck.

5. Trying to choose a userpic that somehow relates to the entry is more trouble than it's worth.

6. 'Anna-Pie' is a nice nickname to have. though I only got called that once.

7. My sister is hypocritical. She keeps saying that I'm weird, but her and her friends shout 'SEXY TIME!' when they hug and speak in something they call 'alphabuggly'.

8. MSN hates everybody.

9. Reaper is awesome.

10. This list doesn't have a number ten. ^_^

Going Mad

Hatred

Things I really hate:

1. Walking home in the dark.

2. My jaw clicking when I move it around.

3. Doctor's surgeries.

4. My classics teacher insisting that he set us homework when he didn't. (you may have intended to set books XIII and XIV, but you set XII and XIII, okay? I wrote it down!)

5. Wednesday afternoons.

6. The fact that the guy I like in my English lesson sits behind me, so I always feel like he's watching me (even though I doubt he pays me any attention at all), but can't see him (though on Thursdays and Fridays we're in a different room, and he's on the other side of the room, where I can see him).

7. My English teacher demanding that essays be handwritten.

8. Getting scared when everyone starts handing in essays when I haven't done one, only to realise that I did it last term, along with only one other person.

9. My English teacher losing these two lone handwritten essays.

10. The fact that I may never see this essay again.

11. Having to walk across town on the way to lessons three times tomorrow.

12. Having to get up for school, at 6:30.

13. Being prescribed gum by a Doctor. I mean, WTF? (It is a problem with my jaw, though).

14. I do not like gum.

15. My glasses.

16. My school uniform, which makes me look rather fat.

17. Everyone I am talking to going offline at once.

18. Not being able to find a t-shirt to wear to go out in.

19. Our DVD recorder and digi-box-type-thing refusing to co-operate - we can't record anything when the digi-thing is on.

20. My mum refusing to buy a new DVD recorder.

21. Windy weather.

22. Hormones.

23. Marks and Spencers.

24. Writer's block.

25. MYSELF. :P

That last one is... not entirely serious. Though not entirely a joke.

Gwen is so psychic

A list of reasons why Torchwood's Gwen Cooper is psychic.

1. Well, Gwyneth was. And they were both played by the same actress - I refuse to believe there's no connection there.

2. Everything Changes - Like Jack said, 'who the hell orders pizza under the name Torchwood'? And who thinks that someone else might order pizza under the name Torchwood?

3. Everything Changes again - Gwen managed to break through the retcon. Maybe this was just luck, but it still seems a bit strange to me.

4. Random Shoes - Gwen is convinced that something is going on, before Eugene's ghost starts following her around and talking directly to her.

5. Captain Jack Harkness - The way she found those equations was too lucky to be luck. Also, if you watch her finding the second one, she's in a hurry (and therefore searching very fast), then when she sees the can that it's hidden in, she slows down as if she knows that's where it is.

...No, I'm not obsessed.

Merlin

Things I'm planning to do this summer...

...After exams and work experience

1. Finish either part 2a or part 2b of my novel (they're set at the same time, but are about two differnt sets of characters, and are currently in separate word documents).

2. Lose some weight.

3. Post more on TDF - only 300 more posts until dæmon-godliness.

4. Buy my Sixth form uniform. Obviously.

5. Make more friends here.

6. Cease to be scared about going into the sixth form.

7. Not worry about exams results.

Limelight...

You know you've read too much of Limelight's fanfiction when...

1. You refer to your computer as your 'terminal'.

2. If you ever meet Matt Lucas (or any other bald celebrity), you plan to say 'My God, you're bald! Whatever could that mean for the cosmos?' (see here).

3. You'd quite happily refer to Janson/Mothma/Rieekan as 'the other, oft-overlooked, Star Wars love triangle'.

4. You have nice, happy dreams in which TNQLL is updated.

5. You know General Rieekan's first name (Carlist).

6. You start comparing Limelight's portrayal of Star Wars characters to other fictional characters.

7. You spent some time pondering the question 'if Han is Luke's sidekick, what does that make Chewie?'.

8. You write a TNQLL version of Bohemian Rhapsody. (Though that wasn't me).

9. When you read the above, you got all the jokes. Even the one about the plastic plant.

10. You spend time trying to think of something that's not 'alive, dead, natural or manmade'.

11. You watch The Empire Strikes Back, and find yourself wondering if Luke's wearing Alliance issue socks or not.

12. You write a list like this and post it on your LJ, where you can be pretty certain that no-one who reads it will get it.

Kin Talking.

<Howdy! I've finally been allowed an entry all to myself. I'm Kinath, the dæmon in this humble being.
I am currently:

1. A hare, though it may be a surrogate form.

2. Annoyed by my human's general lack of revision.

3. Pissed off with the school.

4. Looking forward to tomorrow.>
Just because wei can sleep in? <Just because wei can sleep in.

5. Wishing I was corporeal so I could type this myself.

6. Wishing I was corporeal for various other reasons.

7. Twitching my ears. Twitchy, twitchy, twitch...

8. Bored. Of this. Bye!>

Italy

Things I thought were REALLY OMG AWESOME in Italy (which is where I was at Easter):

1. They have a different definition of a small icecream.

2. Italian is very easy to read.

3. Kinder Bueno in white chocolate = yummyness!

4. You can get little puppets everywhere.

5. In Rome, people will sell you 20 postcards for a Euro. Admittedly they aren't really good postcards, but still.

6. The Vatican. At night. In the rain.

<7. Mm, running...> (IE lots of walking, which is aparently a good thing)

8. I like coach journeys. For some reason.

<9. I liked the beds.> Why? <Dunno.>

10. And, finally; mm, pizza!

Annoyances

Things that are annoying me currently;

1. Underwear with little bows on it. Do people think we can't find the front unless they mark it with a bow?

2. Doctor Who; why do they still have Irish and Scottish accents five billion years in the future?

3. And why are all the cars exactly the same?

4. And why was it on at half six on Saturday? I missed it. *general sounds of irritation*

5. Why is 'The Lion King' not available to rent from Amazon?

6. The username I wanted was taken *grumbles*

7. I don't have enough gold on Gaia to get the 'montly collectible' items, which are of the awesome.

8. I have to go to school tomorrow, and I haven't finished my homework because I lost my biology textbook.

9. No one seems to care that I've lost my biology text book.

10. And I probably can't get a new one because we have, like, two weeks left.

<11. This list is way too long.>

<12. I am not a bunny!>

<13. Damn biology-textbook-thing.>

<14. My human is unable to type 'awesome' without adding an extra s.>
You seem to be managing, though. <Yes.>
